AI Disclosure

Taylor uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized health and fitness coaching. This page explains what AI does in the App, its limitations, and what it cannot do.

What the AI Does

Taylor's AI coach:

  • Analyzes your Apple Health data to surface insights and patterns
  • Generates personalized workout and nutrition recommendations
  • Answers questions about fitness, nutrition, sleep, and general wellness
  • Tracks progress toward your stated health goals and adjusts recommendations over time

The core AI inference runs on your iPhone using Apple's MLX framework (on-device processing). More complex queries may use cloud AI models. In both cases, your conversations are not used to train AI systems without your explicit consent.

What the AI Does NOT Do

Taylor is not a medical device and does not:

  • Diagnose medical conditions or diseases
  • Prescribe medications or medical treatments
  • Provide personalized clinical medical advice
  • Replace a physician, registered dietitian, or licensed healthcare provider
  • Interpret lab results, imaging, or clinical test data
  • Provide crisis intervention or mental health therapy

Every AI response that touches clinical or medical-adjacent topics includes an explicit disclaimer. If you have a medical concern, please consult a qualified clinician.

Medical Disclaimer

The AI coaching provided by Taylor is for informational and wellness purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something Taylor's AI coach said. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number immediately.

Accuracy and Limitations

AI recommendations are based on:

  • The health data you share from Apple Health
  • The goals and preferences you provide in the App
  • General health and fitness knowledge in the AI's training data

These recommendations are not tailored to your complete medical history, and the AI may not know about:

  • Contraindications from medications you take
  • Pre-existing conditions not disclosed in the App
  • Specific physiological factors a clinician would assess in person

AI-generated advice should be treated as a starting point for self-education and goal-setting, not as a final clinical recommendation. Always confirm significant changes to your diet or exercise routine with your healthcare provider.

On-Device Processing

Most AI reasoning happens on your iPhone. This means:

  • Your health conversations are not sent to our servers for primary inference
  • Your data does not leave your device to generate responses in the standard coaching flow
  • On-device processing may be slower than cloud AI, especially for complex queries

Feedback on AI Quality

If Taylor's AI coach gives you advice that seems inaccurate, harmful, or inappropriate:

  • Tap the thumbs-down icon on any response to flag it
  • Report concerns to beta@lifealteringtaylor.com
  • Include the response text and context if possible

Your feedback is reviewed by our team and used to improve safety and accuracy.
